A workshop on “Mindful Awareness in Times of Grief” will be held from 6:30 – 8:00 o’clock tomorrow night in the second floor board room at Partners Hospice, 2687 Palmer Street in Missoula. The workshop will introduce different ways of cultivating awareness and acceptance of the present moment that can be used anywhere at anytime. There is no charge, though donations will be accepted. The Historical Museum at Fort Missoula will host a program exploring haunted places and sites from across Montana entitled, “Spirit Tailings and Story Tellings, Part 2” which will be given by historian Ellen Baumler. The program will be held tomorrow night, Thursday, August 23rd at 7:00 pm, and will include stories that have received an Award of Merit from the American Association for State and Local History for their rare blend of historical value and popular appeal. Applications are currently being accepted for the following county commissioner-appointed positions: The Weed Control Board, the Seeley Lake Refuse District, and the Zoning Board of Adjustment. Applications are available at the County Commissioners Office in the Courthouse Annex in Missoula or on-line at www.co.missoula.mt.us. The deadline for applications is 5:00 p.m. this Friday, August 24th.
A Mystery Dinner Theatre entitle, “Archaeologically Speaking, It’s the Pits!” will be held on Friday and Saturday, August 24th and 25th at 5:30 pm at the Ursuline Centre in Great Falls. Participants will take part in solving the mystery, and with each course of the gourmet dinner, clues will be “dished out.” To purchase tickets or for more information, call 452-5492.
Eligible Ravalli residents can receive $40.00 in coupons to purchase fruits and vegetables at the Bitterroot Valley farmer’s market. This program is targeted for seniors 60 or older, people with disabilities, families with school-aged children, veterans, and domestic violence survivors. The YMCA Childcare of Missoula is expanding to accommodate an additional 30 children. Financial assistance is available for this values-based program which prepares children for school and supports them through the 5th grade with an after-school care.
