Today's Highlight: Tuesday, August 14th All families currently displaced by fire are welcome to participate in the Missoula Family YMCA as members at no cost. Tomorrow, Governor Schweitzer and children’s advocates will urge Congress and the White House to support Kids’ Health Coverage at a Press Conference in Helena. The Governor and various children’s advocates will discuss the need to safeguard health coverage for Montana’s children and the vital role that SCHIP (State Children’s Health Insurance Program) known at CHIP in Montana plays in keeping kids healthy. Missoula County Public Schools’ Board of Trustees’ Public Budget Hearing, will be at 6 pm tonight, located in the Business Building Boardroom, 915 South Avenue West. Following at 7:00 pm will be the regular monthly meeting. Agendas are available on the website: www.mcps.k12.mt.us.

Montana Museum of Art and Culture will sponsor a Public Lecture by author Michael Punke, titled, “1894: Yellowstone Park and the Battle to Save the Buffalo” tonight at 7 pm. At the end of a long, hot summer, Meadowgold will team up with the American Red Cross Blood Services of Montana to trade a pint for a pint and help save lives in August. Presenting the donors at the blood center drives will receive a flavor of their choice, compliments of Meadow Gold Ice Cream.
