Musicians' Spotlight for August 07, 2007
3:30 PM - 4:00 PM

Today's Highlight: "John Floridis hosts Daryl Jones of the Rolling Stones - Part 1"

Daryl Jones, bass player for the Rolling Stones is the guest on this week's Musician's Spotlight. Daryl's career is extraordinary, starting with his stint with Miles Davis in the early 80's to holding down bass for the first post-Police band fronted by Sting to anchoring the world's most famous rock and roll band, the Rolling Stones. In between he has performed or recorded with Herbie Hancock, Madonna, Peter Gabriel and Eric Clapton among others. This is the only interview granted by the Stones when they were in Montana in the fall of 2006. Part 1 of 2.

Shawn Colvin, Patty Larkin, and Leo Kottke have all stopped by the Montana Public Radio studios to play a little and talk with Brian Kopper and John Floridis. Performers talk about the inspiration behind their music and what it's like to both create and perform the music.

Montana artists like Zoe Wood and Wilson & McKee get equal time. Each week, hosts Brian Kopper and John Floridis, composers and performers themselves, give listeners a glimpse into the lives and art of the modern day troubadour.
