Today's Highlight: "Jazz and Art" The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis and special guest Mark O'Connor perform Duke Ellington's rarely heard "Degas Suite," Coleman Hawkins' "Picasso," and a new commission from the Orchestra's reed man Ted Nash. "Portrait in Seven Shades," a suite that renders famous paintings of Monet, Van Gogh, Dali, and others in the language of jazz.
Jazz at Lincoln Center's Peabody Award–winning radio series, Jazz From Lincoln Center, is hosted by Wynton Marsalis and broadcast weekly to over 240 public radio affiliates nationwide through the Jazz Satellite Network. The show features the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra along with contemporary jazz composers and performers.
