Musicians' Spotlight for July 10, 2007 3:30 PM - 4:00 PM
Today's Highlight: An encore edition - John Floridis Hosts Growling Old Men
Featured on the Prairie Home Companion presentation from the University of Montana's Adams Center, Growling Old Men are our guests on this week's Musician's Spotlight.
Featuring Ben Winship and John Lowell, both veterans of the Nothern Rockies acoustic world, the duo feature a relaxed set of original and traditional bluegrass songs, ballads and tunes. Influenced equally by the music of the Appalachian hills and the western plains, their music is at once simple and powerful.

Shawn Colvin, Patty Larkin, and Leo Kottke have all stopped by the Montana Public Radio studios to play a little and talk with Brian Kopper and John Floridis. Performers talk about the inspiration behind their music and what it's like to both create and perform the music.
Montana artists like Zoe Wood and Wilson & McKee get equal time. Each week, hosts Brian Kopper and John Floridis, composers and performers themselves, give listeners a glimpse into the lives and art of the modern day troubadour.
