Weekly headlines and cultural trends from the best of the alternative press, produced by Frank Sennett.
A weekly five-minute show that highlights news from alternative and progressive media outlets like the Cleveland Free Press and the Village Voice. Frank Sennett produces Alternative Sources at KPBX in Spokane, Washington.
A Spokane resident and Montana native, Sennet is the former editor of Newcity weekly in Chicago. Says Sennett, ”I was trying to figure out how to do something positive with alternative press and radio, so I recorded a demo of The Alternative Source with my old pals at Montana Public Radio.”
The Alternative Source airs two news stories, usually related to activism and social causes, followed by two culture stories looking at new trends, or an alternative take on a current trend.
