Today's Highlight: Brad Mehldau
There isn't a pianist more rigorous or imaginative in his repertoire than Brad Mehldau. He's adapted material ranging from Radiohead to Brahms, and he just keeps absorbing more. This performance marks a departure for this phenomenon as Mehldau breaks away from his trio, to bring Nick Drake's "Riverman" and Thelonious Monk's "Think of One" to a compelling solo performance.
Jazz at Lincoln Center's Peabody Award–winning radio series, Jazz From Lincoln Center, is hosted by Wynton Marsalis and broadcast weekly to over 240 public radio affiliates nationwide through the Jazz Satellite Network. The show features the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra along with contemporary jazz composers and performers.
