CNN's Chief National Correspondent John King is in Montana this week covering the political landscape here as the state becomes more in play in this general election. Before joining CNN in 1997, King worked for the Associated Press in Washington DC. This election will be the sixth King has covered. King is known for his smart election night coverage, featuring the use of CNN's high tech 'multi-touch' board.

King spent some time with Governor Brian Schweitzer this week and explored Helena and surrounding communities. He also made time to sit down with Capitol Reporter Emilie Ritter, and this is their conversation.
